Zaldy Co claims Romualdez threatened his life

Former Ako Bicol Rep. Zaldy Co released the third installment of his video series detailing his allegations against the administration. The former lawmaker repeated his claim that President Ferdinand Marcos Jr. and former House Speaker Martin Romualdez received an estimated 56 billion pesos in kickbacks from questionable flood control projects.

Co disputed the earlier statement of former DPWH district engineer Henry Alcantara, who said only 21 billion pesos went to officials. Co insisted the actual amount was much higher.

He said he personally delivered suitcases of cash to Marcos and Romualdez along with members of his security team. He added that the President allegedly took 25 percent of the 100 billion pesos in what he called fund insertions in the proposed 2025 national budget. Co also said he did not receive any money from these transactions.

According to Co, the fallout from his disclosures began months earlier. He claimed that since March, Romualdez had warned him not to return to the Philippines. Co alleged that the former Speaker even suggested he could be killed if he came home.

Co’s latest release adds to the growing public debate over corruption allegations tied to infrastructure spending. No official response was included in his video, and his statements remain unverified.
