A man admitted attacking his coworker, claiming prolonged bullying drove him to kill the victim at a banana plantation.
Police identified the suspect as Noel, who allegedly attacked his coworker Alexis at a banana plantation in Barangay Kapatagan, Digos City.
In an interview with the Brigada News team, Noel claimed Alexis had repeatedly bullied him, causing anger and resentment.
He said the alleged bullying eventually triggered his decision to attack Alexis, resulting in the victim’s death at the plantation.
Noel also claimed he encountered alias Istoy at home after the incident, whom he identified as another alleged bully.
According to Noel, he also stabbed Istoy, who remains hospitalized while receiving medical treatment for injuries sustained during the attack.
The suspect expressed regret over his actions and apologized to the victim’s family for the incident and the resulting loss.
Noel said he was prepared to take responsibility for his actions and face whatever punishment the court may impose.
Digos City Police Station continues investigating the incident to establish the actual motive and determine the circumstances surrounding both attacks.
Police are also expected to verify the suspect’s claims regarding the alleged bullying and determine whether these contributed to the incident.
Meanwhile, the victim’s family declined an interview with the Brigada News team, citing grief following Alexis’ death and the incident.
Authorities continue gathering evidence and statements as investigators work to establish the complete circumstances surrounding the fatal attack in Digos City.
