Man leaves suspected explosive before blast at Legazpi STL outlet

An explosion hit the front of an authorized Small Town Lottery outlet operated by Lucky Venture Corporation in Purok 3, Imperial Court Subdivision Phase 2, Barangay Rizal, Legazpi City.

PMaj. Kharren Rañola Formales, information officer of the Special Investigation Task Group of the Albay Police Provincial Office, confirmed the incident.

According to Rañola, CCTV footage showed a man passing through the area before the explosion. The man was wearing a red helmet, black clothing and black pants.

The man was also reportedly seen leaving an object at the location that authorities believe may have been used as the explosive.

Several minutes later, employees of the establishment heard an explosion and immediately called the Philippine National Police hotline.

Police officers responded to the area after receiving the report.

No injuries or casualties were reported in connection with the explosion.

Authorities have not yet determined what type of explosive was used in the incident.

Police are continuing their investigation to identify the person seen in the CCTV footage and determine the motive behind the explosion.

The CCTV footage showing the man in a red helmet and black clothing is among the information being considered as authorities work to establish what happened before the blast.

The incident occurred outside the authorized STL outlet in Barangay Rizal, with no reported injuries among employees or other people at the establishment.

Authorities have yet to identify the suspect and have not determined the motive for the incident.
