Tourism Department continues to monitor impact of Typhoon Tino

The Department of Tourism (DOT) has urged the public to postpone non-essential travel to areas affected by Typhoon Tino.

Following reported damage in several provinces, the DOT advised travelers to avoid shorelines and mountainous routes. Tourists already in the affected areas were also reminded to stay in safe accommodations and follow the guidance of hotels and local authorities.

“The Department of Tourism (DOT), through our Disaster Risk Reduction and Crisis Operations Management (DRRMCom), continues to closely monitor the impact of Typhoon Tino across the Visayas and Mindanao,” the agency said.

It added: “During this period, the DOT in its regional advisories has urged the public to postpone non-essential travel to affected areas, avoid shorelines and mountainous routes, and continue monitoring official advisories from PAGASA and authorities.”

The DOT also encouraged everyone to stay prepared and work together to ensure the safety of Filipinos and tourists in the country.
