A python was discovered among stuffed toys at an ukay-ukay store in Barangay Calindagan, Dumaguete City, on Aug. 5.
The snake was found inside the store, which is located across from a mall.
According to the store owner, a review of the establishment’s CCTV footage showed that the python entered through the exit gate at around 3 a.m.
The exit gate was reportedly near grass and a canal.
After entering the establishment, the python passed through the kitchen and staff lockers before finding a small opening that led into the main store area.
The snake reportedly moved around inside the establishment before eventually reaching the section where stuffed toys were displayed.
It was there that the python was discovered by the store staff.
The employees immediately sought assistance after finding the snake inside the store.
Responders arrived and successfully rescued the python.
The store owner thanked the Bureau of Fire Protection for its quick response and assistance in rescuing the snake.
The incident was documented through the store’s CCTV footage, which showed the python’s movements after entering the establishment.
