Regional target drug suspect arrested in Mati City buy-bust operation

A regional target-listed drug suspect was arrested during a buy-bust operation led by the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA) Regional Office 11 on Tuesday night in Mati City, Davao Oriental.

Authorities identified the suspect as alias Jabar, 30, who was caught selling one sachet of suspected shabu worth ₱1,000 to an undercover PDEA agent posing as a buyer.

The anti-drug operation took place around 10:45 p.m. on November 4 in Purok Bagong Silang, Barangay Central, with support from the Regional Intelligence Unit XI, Davao Oriental Police Provincial Office, and Mati City Police Station.

Recovered from the suspect were two plastic sachets containing about 10 grams of suspected shabu, estimated to be worth ₱120,000, along with the marked buy-bust money.

PDEA said the suspect’s arrest was part of ongoing efforts to dismantle the illegal drug trade in the Davao Region. The seized evidence has been submitted for laboratory examination.

Alias Jabar is now detained and will face charges for violating Republic Act 9165, also known as the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002.
