PNP denies leaking bar video of Rep. Paolo Duterte

The Philippine National Police (PNP) has denied any involvement in the circulation of videos and documents linked to the February 23 bar incident involving Davao City 1st District Representative Paolo Duterte.

In an official statement, the PNP clarified that it does not possess any CCTV footage related to the alleged altercation and that none of its units or personnel released the videos circulating online.

Likewise, the police organization denied leaking the complainant’s affidavit, which has also surfaced on social media. “We have no official role in the dissemination of the document,” the PNP said.

The PNP emphasized its respect for legal processes, stating that the case has already been filed before the Department of Justice. “Questions regarding the complaint should be directed to the DOJ,” it added.

The PNP said it is willing to cooperate if formally requested by concerned agencies, but urged the public to avoid sharing unverified information online.

The case stems from a criminal complaint filed by businessman Kristone John Patria, who accused Duterte of physical assault and grave threats during an incident at a bar in Davao City around 3 a.m.

Patria said he initially delayed reporting the incident due to fear but is now cooperating with authorities.

Rep. Duterte, in a past interview from The Hague, said his legal team is awaiting full complaint details and is verifying the circulated video.
