Vice President Sara Duterte on Saturday said she is “at peace” regardless of the outcome of her ongoing impeachment trial.
Speaking at an event in Zamboanga City, Duterte emphasized that whether she is acquitted or found guilty, she is ready to accept the verdict.
The Vice President added that the trial is no longer about her but rather about politicians and the current administration, which she claimed are making promises of delivering “genuine public service” to Filipinos.
Duterte’s legal team has already filed a petition before the Supreme Court, questioning the validity of the impeachment complaint filed against her.
No ruling has yet been issued by the high court.
The trial continues to draw national attention, as it marks a rare instance of a sitting vice president facing formal impeachment proceedings.
