Isabela Gov Albano stands by his remarks: public should stay “cool” amid preparations for Super Typhoon Uwan

Isabela Governor Rodolfo Albano III maintained that people should remain “cool” in responding to the threat of Super Typhoon Uwan.

This follows his earlier statement reacting to PAGASA’s forecast on the typhoon’s expected landfall in the country.

Albano initially questioned weather advisories, saying PAGASA often issues similar warnings and that they sometimes cause unnecessary anxiety among residents.

He added that there is nothing anyone can do to stop a typhoon, noting that only God has control over such natural forces.
He quipped that he also couldn’t build a “Noah’s Ark” to bring everyone on board.

According to Albano, people should “just chill,” since the situation is beyond human control.

Because of these remarks, the governor faced heavy criticism online.
Many netizens disapproved of his tone, pointing out that countless Filipinos have suffered from severe disasters—some even resulting in deaths.

Meanwhile, in an interview today, Albano clarified that their operations in Isabela are proactive, but their approach remains “cool and calm.”

He added that residents need to stay composed to avoid panic, stressing that fear and nervousness during situations like this can lead to more problems.
