Ex-DPWH engr. Alcantara also denies plans to retract testimony in flood control scandal

The camp of former Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) engineer Henry Alcantara insisted that reports claiming he has recanted or withdrawn his testimony in hearings related to the alleged flood control corruption are “false and misleading.”

It can be recalled that Ramon Tulfo earlier released information about an alleged “game plan” by the so-called BGC Boys to retract their statements linking high-ranking government officials to irregularities in flood control projects.

In a statement, Alcantara’s legal counsel said his client has not recanting his testimony.

The lawyer explained that Alcantara entered into a Memorandum of Agreement with the Department of Justice (DOJ) as a prerequisite for his regular admission into the Witness Protection, Security and Benefit Program.

In connection with this, Alcantara remains committed to fulfilling his obligations under the agreement by continuing to assist authorities in establishing the truth and accountability.

Alcantara’s camp advised the public to be cautious and to rely only on information from verified and reliable sources.

Earlier today, Alcantara appeared before the DOJ.

Prior to this, another alleged “BGC Boy,” Brice Hernandez, had also denied that he was withdrawing his testimony.
