Unattended bag sparks bomb scare

Authorities responded to a bomb scare at a fast-food parking area in Catalunan Pequeño, Davao City, on Tuesday morning after a suspicious blue backpack was reported unattended.

The incident unfolded at 7:30 a.m. when a customer alerted security guard Ronnie Derecheo Baguios, 39, about the bag. Baguios informed his manager, who called the police. By 8:55 a.m., personnel from Police Station 17, along with the DCPO Explosive Ordnance Disposal (EOD) and K9 team, secured the area for investigation.

Upon inspection, the bag was found to contain only clothing and personal items. Authorities are working to identify the owner, suspected to be a female.

While no explosives were discovered, the scare caused alarm among onlookers.
