Two dead bodies found in separate areas of Bacolod City

Two bodies were found in separate areas of Bacolod City on consecutive days, authorities said.

The first was discovered Friday afternoon, Feb. 20, under a bridge in Barangay Taculing. The victim was later identified as alias Valentine, 54, a resident of Barangay Sum-ag.

He was reportedly a barker and had not returned home for several weeks.

In an interview with Brigada News FM Bacolod, Carlos Javelona, administrative staff of Barangay Taculing, said he had noticed the victim sleeping under the bridge for about two weeks.

The victim had a head wound when found. Initial information indicated that he may have accidentally fallen, which could have caused his death.

Meanwhile, at about 10 a.m. Saturday, Feb. 21, a decomposing body was found in a sugarcane field in Barangay Mansilingan.

Based on initial investigation, workers in the sugarcane field discovered the body and immediately reported it to authorities.

The victim was wearing a black T-shirt with the words “Beach Please,” black shorts, and a single blue slipper with an orange strap was found near the body.

Authorities are conducting further investigation into both cases.
