The Bureau of Customs (BOC) raided St. Gerrard Construction in Pasig City, owned by the Discaya family, in connection with the Senate investigation into alleged irregular flood control projects.
Armed with a search warrant, BOC personnel entered the company compound where luxury vehicles linked to the probe were reportedly kept. Out of 12 luxury cars covered by the warrant, only two were found on site — a Toyota Land Cruiser and a Maserati.
A Cadillac Escalade was also discovered inside the compound, but it was not among the vehicles listed in the search warrant.
The raid comes as senators continue to scrutinize flood control projects flagged for alleged anomalies. During the hearings, questions also arose over the Discaya family’s ownership of high-end cars.
Customs officials confirmed they are coordinating with the Philippine National Police Highway Patrol Group to place alerts on all the vehicles subject to the warrant, ensuring they cannot be used or moved while the investigation is ongoing.
Customs Commissioner Ariel Nepomuceno called on the Discaya family to voluntarily surrender the luxury vehicles named in the warrant. He said doing so would prevent complications and allow authorities to focus on the ongoing investigation into questionable flood control projects.
