Senator-judges acted like VP Sara’s lawyers, Chua claims

The House Prosecution Team defended the impeachment process against Vice President Sara Duterte, saying all procedures strictly followed the rules.

Chua argued that the Senate acted beyond its constitutional role by making decisions on motions that should have been addressed by Duterte’s camp. He emphasized that the defense had already filed a petition with the Supreme Court but no temporary restraining order (TRO) had been issued.

Without a TRO, Chua questioned why the Senate decided to return the Articles of Impeachment to the House. He said it appeared as if some senators were acting as lawyers for the vice president.
