Philippine National Police (PNP) Chief Gen. Rommel Francisco Marbil has ordered the immediate dismissal of 10 personnel from the Criminal Investigation and Detection Group (CIDG) who were allegedly involved in a ‘hulidap’ case.
According to PNP spokesperson Brig. Gen. Jean Fajardo, Gen. Marbil directed the fast-tracking of summary dismissal proceedings to ensure the swift removal of the involved officers from service.
The accused CIDG personnel are currently under investigation, as the PNP seeks to determine their accountability in the alleged extortion and abuse incident. The details of the ‘hulidap’ case were not disclosed publicly as the probe remains ongoing.
Fajardo assured the public that due process will be followed, but stressed that accountability and institutional integrity are top priorities for the police leadership.
The PNP’s move comes amid continued efforts to rebuild public trust and reinforce discipline within the force. Gen. Marbil’s firm stance signals the organization’s intention to clean up its ranks and send a strong message against corruption.
As of this report, the names of the 10 officers have not been released pending the completion of administrative proceedings.
