P1.3M shabu seized, two high value suspects arrested in Taguig

Authorities seized an estimated P1.3 million worth of suspected shabu and arrested two alleged High Value Individuals during a buy-bust operation in Taguig City late Monday night.

The operation was carried out by the Drug Enforcement Unit of the Southern Police District (SPD) at around 11:55 p.m. on March 3, 2026. It took place beside a creek in Purok 5, Barangay Napindan, Taguig City, directly in front of a construction site at the TESDA Training Ground.

Police identified the suspects by their aliases “Viv,” 53, and “Anthony,” 30. Both are residents of Cainta, Rizal.

According to authorities, the anti-drug operation was led by the District Drug Enforcement Unit under the leadership of PMaj Cecilio G. Tomas Jr. The unit coordinated with the District Intelligence Division of the Southern Police District and the Taguig City Police Sub-Station 5.

During the operation, police recovered approximately 200 grams of a white crystalline substance suspected to be shabu. Authorities estimated the seized illegal drugs to have a Standard Drug Price of about P1,360,000.

The suspects were taken into custody following the operation.

They are facing charges for alleged violations of Section 5 and Section 11 of Article II of Republic Act 9165, also known as the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002.

Southern Police District Director PBGen Randy Y. Arceo commended the District Drug Enforcement Unit and its partner units for the successful operation.

Arceo said the police remain committed to dismantling drug networks and protecting communities from the dangers posed by illegal drugs.

Authorities said anti-drug operations will continue as part of efforts to maintain peace and public safety in Metro Manila communities.
