A 29-year-old man was jailed after allegedly assaulting his live-in partner during a fight over online gambling.
The incident happened Monday morning, June 23, in Purok Ilaya, Barangay Tuyan, in front of the couple’s children.
The suspect, identified only as Satur, reportedly attacked his 24-year-old partner Mae following an argument about his alleged addiction to online gambling.
Mae told Brigada News FM Cebu that the fight started when Satur borrowed her cellphone. She suspected he accessed her e-wallet, which led to a confrontation. Satur then allegedly punched her and kicked her twice, leaving bruises on her arm.
Mae said she would not pursue formal charges but wants a written agreement filed at the barangay level to officially document their separation and ensure that Satur continues to provide financial support for their two children.
Authorities have not released additional details as the investigation continues.
