ICI to review Zaldy Co video linking Marcos to corruption

The Independent Commission for Infrastructure is preparing to review a video statement by resigned Ako Bicol party-list Rep. Zaldy Co, who accused President Ferdinand Marcos Jr. of involvement in alleged corruption tied to infrastructure projects.

ICI executive director Brian Keith Hosaka said the commission will study Co’s claims once all materials are in hand. The video includes Co’s allegation that Marcos supposedly directed the insertion of at least ₱100 billion into the proposed 2025 national budget. Hosaka said they intend to examine the statement with care to understand the claims and the context in which they were made.

Before beginning the review, the commission is gathering records from the Senate Blue Ribbon Committee hearing where the allegations were discussed. Hosaka said these documents will be part of the evaluation once the formal review starts.

He added that the commission will verify the contents of the circulating video to confirm what Co said and how it relates to the issues raised in the Senate hearing.

Hosaka explained that ICI will not make any findings until the review is completed. He noted that the commission will move only after examining the Senate hearing materials and the video Co released shortly after his resignation.

The allegations have drawn wide public attention because they involve claims about the president’s role in the budget process. ICI has not provided a schedule for when the review will begin, saying the timing depends on the completion of document collection and verification.
