House Speaker Bojie Dy underscored the responsibilities of those in government as the country marks the Feast of the Black Nazarene, saying the Traslacion serves as a reminder of the crosses carried by Filipinos.
This was Dy’s message in observance of the Feast of the Black Nazarene.
In his statement, Dy said the Black Nazarene does not promise a life free from hardship. Instead, it reminds the faithful that they have the strength to rise again, and that God walks with them every step of the way.
The lawmaker added that the gathering of millions of devotees clearly shows how resilient Filipinos are in the face of various challenges.
Dy expressed hope that the Traslacion will serve as a reminder that even amid life’s trials, the people are not alone, and that there is hope as long as they remain united.
Meanwhile, speaking of public servants, the congressman stressed that the message of the procession is clear: the government has a duty to listen, to understand, and to act for those who are most in need.
