President Ferdinand “Bongbong” Marcos Jr. has joined the nation in celebrating the Feast of the Black Nazarene.
In his message, President Marcos said the procession of the Black Nazarene reminds us that the faith of Filipinos walks on hot streets, pushes through thick crowds, carries daily worries, and hopes for a better tomorrow.
The President added that the Traslacion allows people to witness stories of sacrifice and resilience, acts of devotion, a strong sense of community, and unity that help keep families and communities strong.
Alongside the celebration, he invited everyone not only to physically reach for the image of the Black Nazarene, but to allow this devotion to guide their thoughts, actions, and service to others.
He said that if one has the strength to hold on to the andas, then one also has the strength to persevere in everyday life.
The President expressed hope that the celebration will further deepen the shared commitment to help one another in facing life’s challenges and to keep hope alive.
He added that hope must remain strong in building a more humane and upright “Bagong Pilipinas.”
In closing, the President expressed hope that the celebration of the feast will be safe, solemn, and meaningful.
