The Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD) assured the public that its services and assistance to Filipinos in need will continue despite the implementation of a four-day workweek in government agencies.
In a statement, DSWD Assistant Secretary Irene Dumlao said the public can expect that the agency’s programs and assistance will not be disrupted.
To ensure this, the agency’s frontline programs will remain open, including the Disaster Response Command Center, Crisis Intervention Program/Units, Pag-abot Program, Minors Traveling Abroad services, the Walang Gutom Program—including the Walang Gutom Kitchen—and its centers and residential care facilities.
All provincial, city, and municipal staff of the Pantawid Pamilyang Pilipino Program are also exempted from the four-day workweek arrangement.
In case of disasters, personnel from the Disaster Response Management Group (DRMG) will remain on standby for onsite operations.
