A total of 113 swimmers from eight Southeast Asian countries will compete in the 4th Southeast Asian Open Water Championships at Boracay Newcoast in Aklan.
The three-day competition will be held from August 21 to 23, marking the Philippines’ first time to host the regional tournament.
The event also aims to showcase Boracay’s beauty as a world-class tourist destination to athletes and spectators from across the region.
According to Philippine Aquatics Inc., lifeguards, life rafts, and medical personnel will be on standby throughout the competition to ensure the safety of all participants.
Joining host country the Philippines are Indonesia, Laos, Malaysia, Singapore, Thailand, Timor-Leste, and Vietnam.
