Senate President Vicente “Tito” Sotto III is considering scheduling the ratification of the 2026 General Appropriations Act (GAA) on December 29.
This is to ensure that lawmakers will be able to approve a complete and fully verified enrolled bill.
According to Sotto, he is open to entertaining a motion to extend the session suspension until December 29.
This would give sufficient time for the budget offices of both the Senate and the House of Representatives to complete the printing and consolidation of the enrolled bill, along with its supporting documents.
Sotto stressed that he does not want lawmakers to ratify only a summary, but the full enrolled bill itself.
