Russian President Vladimir Putin has rejected calls for a ceasefire on long-range strikes in Ukraine as Moscow continues to intensify its attacks on Kyiv.
The statement came after Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy proposed that both sides halt attacks on energy and oil facilities amid the ongoing conflict.
Putin also warned Western countries that Russia could use nuclear weapons if NATO attacks or attempts to blockade the Russian exclave of Kaliningrad.
He stressed that further escalation of the conflict could lead to a dangerous situation with no way back.
While Putin said Russia remains open to negotiations to end the war, Moscow wants Ukraine to become a neutral country after the conflict.
