A Social Weather Stations (SWS) survey found that 90% of Filipino voters will support candidates committed to improving food security and agriculture in the upcoming elections.
The survey, conducted in February, highlights food security as the top concern among Filipino voters, ranking higher than issues like health care, the war on drugs, and poverty reduction.
The findings are consistent with January’s survey, where 94% of respondents also prioritized agriculture and food security. The results indicate that Filipinos see agricultural development as a critical national issue that needs urgent attention.
With rising food prices and concerns over sustainability, the data suggests that voters are looking for leaders with concrete plans to ensure stable and affordable food supplies.
As the election nears, candidates may face mounting pressure to present strong agricultural policies that align with the concerns of the Filipino electorate.
