2 Cases vs Sarah Discaya transferred to Cebu

The Supreme Court has confirmed that two criminal complaints against contractor Sarah Discaya and several public works engineers have been transferred to the Lapu-Lapu City Regional Trial Court in Cebu.

Supreme Court spokesperson Atty. Camille Ting said the cases were moved from Davao to Cebu.

Meanwhile, Department of Justice spokesperson Polo Martinez explained that the transfer is related to the designation by the Office of the Court Administrator (OCA) of special courts to handle corruption cases involving flood control projects.

It can be recalled that Discaya surrendered to the National Bureau of Investigation last week despite the absence of a court-issued arrest warrant at the time.
