DOT affirms Philippines is safe for tourists

The Department of Tourism (DOT) has assured the public that the Philippines remains safe for travelers.

This comes after reports that the Bondi Beach shooters had traveled to Davao City, and following foreign media descriptions labeling the country as an “ISIS training hub.”

In a statement, the DOT said such portrayals do not reflect the reality that the Philippines is a safe destination loved by millions of tourists from around the world.

The agency emphasized that the country is known for its numerous and diverse destinations, rich cultural heritage, and the warm hospitality extended to visitors.
