Thousands of devotees continue to swarm the different routes for the feast of Jesus Nazareno’s procession dubbed as Traslacion 2025 on Thursday January 9.
The carriage carrying Jesus Nazareno’s image left Quirino Grandstand in Manila at 4:41am and has to pass by different routes on its way to Quiapo Church.
Quiapo Church officials estimated that the crowd reached 91,000 as of 8:00am to 9:00am.
The Multi-Agency Coordination Center estimated that at 11am the people in Quiapo alone reached 170,000.
As of 12:55pm the procession was at the corners of Palanca Street and Fraternal Street and at 2:23pm at Castillejos Street in Manila.
The Pahalik or Pagpupugay for the image of Jesus Nazareno was stopped at the Quirino Grandstand at aroud 12:00 noon.
There is no official data yet as to the total devotees who participated in this year’s Traslacion.
On Thursday morning the Philippine Red Cross (PRC) reported that their medics assisted more than a hundred patients who needed medical assistance at the Quirino Grandstand.
According to the PRC, out of these patients – more than five were transported to hospital due to severe dizziness and chest pain.
Among the health concerns addressed by the Red Cross were neck pain, hyperacidity, blurred vision, and weakness.
PRC deployed 1,000 volunteers and personnel for the holy gathering which also includes 10 doctors and 20 nurses.
