House Speaker Faustino “Bojie” Dy III has ordered Ako Bicol Party-list Representative Elizaldy Co to return to the Philippines within 10 days, revoking his travel clearance.
In a notice dated September 18, 2025, Dy directed Co to immediately come back to the country to address issues linked to him. The Speaker stressed that Co’s presence is vital to respond to the matters surrounding his name.
Dy warned that failure to comply could lead to disciplinary action from the House of Representatives. Such measures, while not specified in the notice, may range from reprimand to more serious sanctions depending on Co’s response.
The order comes after it was confirmed this month that Co is currently in the United States undergoing medical treatment. His absence has raised concerns within the chamber, with some questioning the timing and length of his stay abroad.
Co, a businessman-turned-lawmaker, has been a notable figure in the House due to his role in budget deliberations and influence in committee discussions. His extended absence has fueled speculation about internal rifts within Congress.
