PRC deploys over 300 additional blood units to Northern Luzon hospitals

The Philippine Red Cross (PRC) has assured continued support for the health and medical needs of individuals in Northern Luzon following the devastation caused by Super Typhoon Uwan.

With the rising number of hospital admissions and dwindling blood supplies, the PRC acted swiftly to address the shortage.

A total of 324 blood units were dispatched to replenish stocks in six PRC Blood Service Facilities and three heavily affected hospitals in the region.

These hospitals include:

  • R2 Trauma and Medical Center in Nueva Vizcaya
  • Adventist Hospital–Santiago City Inc. in Quirino
  • Saint Paul Hospital of Tuguegarao City, Inc. in Cagayan

The PRC also renewed its call for the public to donate blood and help save lives as the country continues its recovery efforts.
