The Presidential Communications Office (PCO) on Wednesday condemned the circulation of what it described as a fabricated medical document allegedly linked to President Ferdinand Marcos Jr., rejecting claims about the President’s health as false and malicious.
In an official statement, the PCO said the document being posted and shared online did not come from any legitimate medical examination and does not reflect the President’s current health condition.
“The document being circulated is fake,” the office said, stressing that Marcos remains well and fully capable of carrying out his official responsibilities.
The statement came amid the spread of unverified medical information on digital platforms, which the PCO said was deliberately intended to mislead the public.
The communications office described the sharing of falsified health claims as irresponsible and deceptive, warning that it violates the President’s right to privacy and creates unnecessary public alarm.
The PCO also said such actions risk undermining trust in government institutions.
Officials urged the public to rely only on authorized government sources for accurate updates and to refrain from amplifying content that has not been verified.
“We urge the public to rely only on official statements from authorized government sources,” the statement said.
The office added that appropriate legal options are being reviewed in connection with the circulation of fabricated documents and false information.
Despite the controversy, the PCO said Marcos remains focused on his work and continues to actively perform his duties in service of the Filipino people.
The statement did not identify who was responsible for circulating the alleged document or specify what legal steps may be taken.
