NHA turns over ₱2.266-m condo to Baterbonia family, fulfilling late Bobet’s dream

The National Housing Authority (NHA) has formally turned over a condominium unit worth ₱2.266 million to the Baterbonia family, fulfilling a commitment made to the late Rene Clert “Bobet” Baterbonia.

The housing unit is located at Madayaw Residences in Barangay Bangkal, Davao City.

The turnover was completed after the Baterbonia couple signed the documents confirming ownership of the condominium unit.

According to the NHA, the housing grant fulfills Bobet’s long-held dream of relocating his family to Davao City to avoid flooding in their community and to help support the education of his younger siblings.

The grant was approved by NHA General Manager Joeben A. Tai, who was moved by Bobet’s story while he was still alive and playing basketball under Ateneo de Davao University.

Although Bobet passed away before seeing his dream realized, the housing assistance has now been provided to his family.

The NHA said the condominium unit offers the family a new opportunity to rebuild and pursue their future in Davao City.

The housing grant is also expected to ease the burden on Bobet’s family and siblings, particularly as they prepare to attend university after receiving full college scholarships.

Officials said the turnover marks the fulfillment of the commitment made to the Baterbonia family.

The transfer of ownership was completed after the necessary legal documents were signed by the family.

No additional details regarding the housing grant were released.
