Father, child injured in Leyte riding-in-tandem shooting

A 39-year-old father and his 3-year-old child were injured after they were shot by riding-in-tandem suspects in the Poblacion District of Burauen, Leyte, on June 25, authorities said.

Both victims are residents of Poblacion District 2.

CCTV footage reviewed by investigators showed a man waiting near an alley before the shooting occurred.

Moments later, the father and child arrived on an electric bicycle. As they approached the area, the suspect opened fire on them.

During the attack, the 3-year-old child got off the e-bike while the father attempted to flee.

Police said the riding-in-tandem suspects chased the father and fired at him again before leaving the scene.

The father and child were immediately taken to a hospital for medical treatment.

Authorities have not released information on the extent of the victims’ injuries.

Police are continuing their investigation to determine the motive behind the shooting and identify those responsible.

An operation is also underway to locate and arrest the suspects involved in the attack.

Investigators are reviewing available evidence, including CCTV footage, as part of the ongoing case build-up.

No arrests have been reported as of this time, and authorities have not released further details while the investigation continues.
