Japan turns over aid to earthquake-hit communities in Cebu

Japan, through the Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA), has provided emergency disaster relief assistance to residents in Cebu following the magnitude 6.9 earthquake.

The aid includes tents, blankets, plastic sheets, sleeping pads, portable jerry cans, and water purifiers for displaced families.

According to Ambassador Endo Kasuya, Japan stands with the Filipino people during this time, especially since earthquakes have recently impacted not only Cebu but also Baguio and Davao.

He expressed hope that they can help in any way possible.

Prior to this, the Japan Air Self-Defense Force (JASDF) had already delivered relief supplies via air transport as part of the Japan-Philippines bilateral training “Doshin Bayanihan 5-25.”
