Group to Condemn Malacañang’s Alleged Role as Corruption ‘Ground Zero’

The activist group Bagong Alyansang Makabayan (Bayan) asserted that the Palace’s supposed excuses, distractions, and cover-ups intended to conceal the alleged role of President Bongbong Marcos as mastermind and implementer of widespread corruption have now been “busted” or exposed.

According to Bayan, Palace apologists continue to insist that Marcos had nothing to do with the suitcases and vehicles containing alleged kickbacks, but the group said such claims are not credible and are insulting attempts to shield the President from accountability.

Bayan stressed that the latest testimony regarding the transport of kickbacks must be investigated, but an honest and independent probe is impossible while Marcos remains in power.

The group argued that the President, along with what it called a corrupt vice president, must be removed from office, and that a transition council should be allowed to pursue accountability and reforms in government.

Finally, Bayan said it will condemn during its November 30 protest how Malacañang has supposedly become the “ground zero” of corruption and the “main hub” of criminal syndicates operating within the government.

If the nation’s stolen funds are inside the Palace, the group said the public must stand firm to reclaim them and ensure the arrest of those responsible.
