The Department of Trade and Industry (DTI) will immediately enforce a price freeze on basic goods following President Ferdinand Marcos Jr.’s approval of the declaration of a national state of calamity.
According to the agency, the price freeze will remain in effect for 60 days, or until lifted by the President.
DTI said it has already coordinated with key National Price Coordinating Council (NPCC) implementing agencies to protect consumers during this period.
The department also assured that it is working closely with manufacturers, retailers, and distributors to secure stable and sufficient supply of basic necessities and prime commodities.
All DTI regional and provincial offices are now on heightened alert to monitor nationwide compliance with the price freeze.
