DOJ to file cases with the Ombudsman over flood control corruption

The Department of Justice (DOJ) assured that it will proceed with filing cases before the Office of the Ombudsman, with or without the testimony of protected witnesses such as the Discaya couple.

This is in connection with alleged corruption in flood control projects.

According to DOJ Officer-in-Charge Fredderick Vida, a timeline has already been set for the filing.

He said the public can no longer wait, so they will move forward “with or without” witness testimonies.

The case will be built based on the evidence currently in their possession.

Vida also emphasized that the DOJ continues to coordinate with the Independent Commission for Infrastructure (ICI), which is also conducting its own investigation into the corruption allegations.

The filing of the case is expected in the coming weeks.
