Wildfires continue to burn in several parts of Indonesia, particularly in West Kalimantan, as large-scale firefighting efforts remain underway in fire-prone areas.
According to the Associated Press, fires remained active in several regions of Indonesia on Monday, while authorities continued extensive suppression efforts across affected provinces.
Meanwhile, smoke from the wildfires has reached the Philippines due to an unusual wind pattern carrying pollutants from Indonesia toward the country.
Satellite imagery showed smoke from fires in Kalimantan reaching parts of the Philippines, including Metro Manila.
Several areas in the Manila also recorded unhealthy air quality on Tuesday, which was linked to the smoke from the ongoing wildfires in Indonesia.
