DMW confirms arrest of three OFWs in UAE

The Department of Migrant Workers (DMW) confirmed the arrest of three Overseas Filipino Workers (OFWs) in the United Arab Emirates (UAE) after they were reportedly involved in sharing videos of attacks and missile interceptions online.

According to Migrant Workers Secretary Hans Leo Cacdac, the Philippine government is closely monitoring the situation and providing assistance to the affected Filipinos.

Cacdac also warned Filipinos living and working in the UAE to refrain from sharing videos of ongoing conflicts on social media to avoid facing similar consequences.

Meanwhile, amid escalating tensions in the Middle East, the government continues its efforts to repatriate affected Filipinos.

In line with this, Overseas Workers Welfare Administration (OWWA) Chief Patricia Yvonne Caunan said that six flights from Bahrain, Kuwait, and other nearby countries are expected to arrive today.

These flights are carrying 75 OFWs who will safely return to the Philippines amid the ongoing conflict in the region.
