Dela Rosa accuses ICC probers of forcing police to testify against him

Senator Ronald “Bato” Dela Rosa is seeking to investigate an alleged complaint he received, which claims that some active and retired police officers were coerced by International Criminal Court (ICC) representatives into testifying against him.

The move is in connection with the crime against humanity cases filed against Former President Rodrigo Duterte in the ICC.

Dela Rosa wants the Senate to probe the alleged “collusion” between the Philippine National Police (PNP) and the ICC.

According to the senator, the complaint alleges that ICC representatives forced police officers to sign prepared affidavits to testify against him, with threats that they would be implicated in the case if they refused.

“They’re threatening the police that if they don’t sign the prepared affidavits, they’ll be the ones implicated in the case. We know the people involved in that, they’re always calling the police to the hotel, intimidating our police.”, dela Rosa said.

In a press statement, the senator also urged President Ferdinand Marcos Jr. to expel ICC investigators from the country if he is genuinely committed to reconciliation.

Dela Rosa claimed that the ICC is conducting an ongoing mission at a hotel in Pasay City, where police officers are allegedly being forced to sign affidavits against him.
