Commo. Jay Tarriela slams continued jabs by the Chinese Embassy at senators

Philippine Coast Guard (PCG) spokesperson for the West Philippine Sea (WPS), Commodore Jay Tarriela, described the strong statements issued by the Chinese Embassy against Philippine officials as a “blatant act of disrespect.”

In a post on X, Tarriela said that as Filipinos, it should be recognized that these attacks by foreign diplomats against senators are not merely assaults on the Senate or democratic institutions.

He said they are a direct challenge to the sovereignty of the Philippines and to the Filipino people.

In the same post, Tarriela also shared screenshots of statements released by the Chinese Embassy in Manila.

The embassy asserted in those statements that Chinese diplomats have the right to defend their interests and dignity, as this is part of their duty.
