Camp of NSA Sec. Año to take action on allegations by former marines

National Security Adviser Eduardo Año has denied allegations made by individuals claiming to be former members of the Marines that he received a paper bag and delivered cash to several government officials from former Congressman Zaldy Co.

In a statement released by the National Security Council, Año said he never attended any meeting with former House Speaker Martin Romualdez, Zaldy Co, and Congresswoman Leila de Lima at the Polo Club townhouse or in any other location.

He also denied receiving any paper bag or package from the individuals mentioned.

Año described the accusations as “false” and “fabricated.”

He stressed that he would not let attempts to tarnish his reputation go unanswered.

His legal team, he said, is prepared to take appropriate action and will also conduct its own investigation to determine whether the alleged “malicious stunt” is part of a broader effort to undermine the government.

In closing, Año urged the public to remain vigilant and not to be easily swayed by misinformation.

He assured that the government will continue to respond through proper channels while upholding the rule of law at all times.
