Kylie clarifies statement about leaving the Philippines if Robin runs for VP

An interview video of actress Kylie Padilla recently went viral after she reacted to the possible candidacy of her father, Robin Padilla, for a higher government position.

The actress jokingly said she would leave the Philippines when asked about rumors of Robin running for vice president in the next elections.

However, some netizens appeared to have taken her statement out of context, which led to various reactions online.

Many agreed with what the actress said, while others commented that even Robin’s own daughter supposedly does not support him.

Meanwhile, Kylie clarified her remarks on her Facebook page.

She explained that she had no intention of insulting her father and only mentioned leaving the country because she wants a peaceful life.

The actress added that she trusts her father’s judgment and whatever decision he may make.

Some netizens even joked that Kylie herself should run for office, saying she effectively led the fictional kingdom in the TV series Encantadia.

It can be recalled that Robin earlier expressed interest in running for the position if former president Rodrigo Duterte were to ask him to do so.
