Authorities raid Pasay hotel in search of Sunwest Corp. executives

The Philippine National Police–Criminal Investigation and Detection Group (PNP-CIDG) and the National Bureau of Investigation (NBI) raided a hotel in Pasay City in an attempt to locate executives of Sunwest Corporation and serve their warrants of arrest.

Sunwest is the construction firm linked to former lawmaker Zaldy Co and the allegedly anomalous flood control project in Oriental Mindoro.

According to the CIDG, three personnel of the company were believed to be inside the hotel, possibly posing as hotel employees. They were identified as Consuelo Dayton Aldon, Anthony Li Ngo, and Noel Yap Cao.

CIDG NCR Chief Col. John Guiagui said more than a hundred personnel, along with the NBI, were deployed to secure all 10 floors of the hotel. He noted that the operation was “smooth” but they failed to serve the warrants.

Guiagui assured the public that the PNP will not stop pursuing the remaining persons with outstanding warrants of arrest, including those connected with Sunwest who remain at large.
