Most Transmission Lines in Visayas Back to Normal After Earthquake

The National Grid Corporation of the Philippines (NGCP) has confirmed that as of 6 a.m. today, most transmission lines in the Visayas have returned to normal operations.

This development comes after the magnitude 6.9 earthquake that struck Cebu, affecting the region’s power supply.

However, some lines remain non-operational, including the 169-megawatt (MW) Therma Visayas Inc. Unit 1, as well as the Daanbantayan-Tabango and Daanbantayan-Compostela lines.

NGCP assured the public that it is exerting all efforts to fully restore power in the affected areas of the Visayas.
