The Department of Trade and Industry (DTI) has implemented a 60-day price freeze on basic goods across the entire province of Cebu.
This came after the magnitude 6.9 earthquake that heavily affected residents and establishments.
According to the DTI, they understand the severity of the quake’s impact on every household.
Alongside the price freeze, the agency said its priority is to ensure that supply prices remain affordable and stable.
Meanwhile, the Department of Energy (DOE) has also imposed a price freeze on LPG and kerosene in Cebu, which will likewise last for 60 days.
Both agencies will work together to inspect retailers to prevent overpricing during the crisis.
