VP Sara Duterte says public anger will continue until FPRRD returns to Philippines

Vice President Sara Duterte said public anger will not subside until former President Rodrigo Duterte is safely returned to the Philippines.

According to the vice president, the frustration is not limited to residents of Davao City but is shared by many Filipinos while her father remains detained abroad.

Sara Duterte criticized the current administration for allowing the arrest of the former president, who is facing charges of crimes against humanity linked to his controversial war on drugs.

She said the arrest was unacceptable and claimed it was carried out without sufficient basis.

The vice president stressed that public anger will continue and will not disappear until her father is brought back to the Philippines.

“Hindi huhupa ang galit ng mga tao,” she said, adding that the issue will remain unresolved while Duterte remains in detention.

Rodrigo Duterte was arrested on March 11, 2025.

He is currently being held in a detention facility in The Hague, Netherlands, while legal proceedings continue at the International Criminal Court.

The case against the former president is related to allegations of crimes against humanity connected to his administration’s campaign against illegal drugs.

Duterte’s anti-drug campaign was one of the most controversial policies of his presidency, drawing both strong support and international criticism.

The International Criminal Court is conducting proceedings related to the case while the former president remains under detention.

Meanwhile, Sara Duterte reiterated that public sentiment will remain intense until the former president returns to the country.
