Vice President Sara Duterte could be removed from office if convicted on just one of the seven Articles of Impeachment, according to Manila First District Representative Ernix Dionisio.
In a press briefing, Dionisio emphasized that a conviction on any single article is enough to result in Duterte’s removal and perpetual disqualification from public office. He explained that an impeachment complaint can be filed based on just one article, and each holds equal weight.
Among the Articles of Impeachment is an alleged assassination plot against President Ferdinand “Bongbong” Marcos Jr. and his family. House Deputy Majority Leader Paolo Ortega V stated that among the seven Articles of Impeachment, the alleged threat to the president’s life is the most severe, calling it a “grave offense.”
The impeachment process against Duterte remains a hot topic, with its potential political and legal consequences being closely watched nationwide.
