Typhoon Uwan leaves major damage to airports and seaports in Catanduanes

Seaports and airports in Catanduanes suffered heavy damage in the wake of Typhoon Uwan.

In an interview, Department of Transportation (DOTr) Acting Secretary Giovanni Lopez said the province’s seaports sustained significant destruction, while airports incurred only minor damage.

Lopez added that after the typhoon’s landfall, airport and seaport operations have already returned to normal.

The suspension of public utility vehicle (PUV) trips has also been lifted.

This means the “no sail” policy at ports, the NOTAMs issued to airports, and the suspension of PUV operations are now all lifted.
