Police said the driver, who is the sole survivor, is currently hospitalized and recovering. “It lost its brakes,” he reportedly told investigators, recounting the terrifying moments before the crash. Authorities believe the van’s failure to stop may have been caused by a mechanical issue, but the exact cause is still under investigation.
